Our Story
So, alot of you might not have even known that Chris or I was even dating someone. Well, that is probably due to the fact that we met only 4 months ago! But, boy, has it been a great, crazy, and fast 120 days!
For some of you this might sound weird, but we met on a Christian website called Christian Cafe. Now neither one of us was really that excited about going on to a WEBSITE to look for someone, BUT now that we look back, we both know that God is the one who led us there!
Chris winked at me, and the ball started rolling from there! We emailed a few times, and then he asked for my number. We talked and texted a couple of weeks before we decided to meet. I remember being surprised at how easy it was to talk to Chris. We'd be talking, and time would just fly by.
Chris wanted to meet on April 29th for lunch, BUT I got so nervous and totally chickened out! And what's so funny is that Chris says that he ALMOST didn't call me back after that. But, God was still working in both of us, and we finally met up at Ruby Tuesdays for lunch after church on May 6th.
As always, it was so easy to talk to Chris! In fact, when we were done, we headed to Starbucks (a fave place for both of us) and stayed there talking for the entire afternoon. The only reason we even left was because I had a teen thing to do that evening. So, we parted ways with a hug and Chris saying to call him later. Now you guys know that this was him putting the ball in my court to see if I was interested. BUT those of you that know me, know that I HATE calling boys, so I was so torn about what to do. So, I waited 2 days and texted him.
From there, we saw each other every weekend for the first 2 weekends and then we started mixing some time together during the week too. And by the time May had ended, we were already talking about marriage. We both just knew this was right!
Since then, we talked about all kinds of things, spent tons of times together, hated spending time apart, and just got closer and closer. I met his family, and he met mine. And both of us loved the other's family and felt like that was yet another "sign" that this was all good and right and part of God's will for the two of us.
In August, we bought a condo and learned that we would close on Sept 14th. And we both just knew that it was time to make things official. So, we had everyone in uber-planning mode, and we planned our wedding in about a week.
We got married on Sept 1st in Arkansas with our immediate families there to support us. We had dinner together afterwards and all went to church and lunch together the following day.
Chris and I will get to move in to our condo a week from today, and we are so excited! And, we have a spare bedroom, so PLEASE come and visit us!!!!!!!!
